Display is showing error code, letters and numbers or hidden features or functions

If there is an error code displayed:

NOTE: The Error Code may display in F# E# format or E# F# format.

There may be a problem with the product that can be solved by turning the power off and on. 

  • Power the unit down by turning off the circuit breaker(s) or fuse(s) for one (1) minute and then power the unit up by turning on the circuit breaker(s) or fuses(s),

  • Monitor the the product for one (1) minute to ensure the error code does not return.

If the appliance displays F9 or F9 E0, the electrical outlet in the home or the electrical connection to the appliance may be miswired.

If your appliance was installed recently (within approximately 3 months), contact a qualified electrician to verify the electrical supply.

Recent Power Outage:

  • If during a power outage, there was a unexpected amount of power supply line "noise" that the control detected as incorrect voltage amount on either L1 or L2, then the control could flag the F9 or F9 E0 error code.  Also, if any keys were actuated before a 10 second interval on power up this could have caused the F9 or F9 E0 to appear.

In a recent power outage situation, turn off the household circuit breaker that controls the appliance for 1 minute.  Then reset the circuit breaker & observe the appliance for 1 minute to ensure the error code does not display again.  Verify appliance operation is normal.

If your oven control is in "C" Celsius Mode:

During Celsius mode, oven temperature is displayed in Celsius rather than Fahrenheit.  The letter "C" is typically displayed.

User may notice that oven or range will not accept input above *260º.  This is an indication that the appliance is in Celsius mode.

* 260º varies by model or platform

If the Clock is blank:

Some models have a hidden feature which allows you the option to hide the time of day on the display window.

  • Press and hold Clock Set/Start for five seconds(typical). This will time of day back to display. The time should not have to be reset.

Do you want to hide the time of day from the display?

  • Press and hold Clock Set/Start for five seconds. This will remove time of day from the display.

  • Press and hold Clock Set/Start for five seconds again to bring back time of day to display. 

If your display shows "CAL".

Oven calibration feature - This function allows you to calibrate your oven.

LOC, Lock, Locked, a padlock icon or the cooktop icon is displayed in the Oven Control:


The Control Lock shuts down the control panel keys to avoid unintended use of the oven(s).
  • The Control Lock will remain set after a power failure, if set before the power failure occurs. 

  • The procedure for locking the control panel varies, refer to the Use and Care Guide for detailed information.


To Lock/Unlock cooktop(typical):

  • Before using, turn all control knobs to Off. Press and hold the Top or Loc keypad for five seconds. A single tone will sound, and "Loc On" and a cooktop icon will appear on the display. After five seconds the Clock Display will reappear.

  • Repeat steps above to unlock cooktop. "Loc Off" will appear on the display for five seconds, and the picture of the cooktop will disappear from the display.

If SAB, Sab, 5AB, or 5A6 is in the oven display:

Your product has the Sabbath Mode feature activated. Please refer to your Use & Care Guide.

If the display shows PF or PF id=27 or PF id=30: 

There has been a power failure. Press the cancel pad to clear the display. On some models you may need to reset the time of day clock.

If the time of day is flashing:

There has been a power failure. Press the cancel pad to clear the display. On some models you may need to reset time of day clock.
