Rainbow Colors in the Oven Door Glass
My Whirlpool Oven Door is Rainbow Colored
When viewed under certain light sources or angles, the glass will appear green, purple, red, or rainbow-colored. This is a normal characteristic of oven door glass and does not require service.
The green, purple, red, or rainbow appearance in the oven door glass is due to the inner glass being coated with an oxide compound. The oxide coating is a heat barrier that reflects oven heat into the oven, reducing heat loss and helping maintain a cooler oven door exterior.
