Replacing the Cooktop Light Bulb on a Whirlpool Low Profile Over the Range Microwave
Your cooktop light should come on when it is selected or when the button is pushed. If the display is on and the microwave is operating and the light bulb doesn't come on, it might need to be replaced.
This part can be ordered at our Purchase Genuine Parts site.
To Replace the Light Bulb:
NOTE: There may be one (1) or two (2) bulbs depending on model.
- Unplug or disconnect power from the microwave.
- Locate the cooktop/vent light bulb, which is located on the underside of the microwave oven.
- Remove bulb cover screw, and open the bulb cover.
- Remove bulb.
- Replace bulb with an incandescent bulb, close bulb cover, and secure with screw.
IMPORTANT: Use only an incandescent light bulb as a replacement. Do not use an LED light bulb.
