Oven Not Working - Electric Range

New installation or electrical connection?

If this appliance was newly installed, check the following to ensure the power supply was connected correctly:

• Strain relief is tightened against the power supply cord.
• All terminal wires are in the correct locations (colors match).
• Hex nuts on the terminal block posts are secure and tightened.

Has a recent power outage occurred?

During a power outage, if there was an unexpected amount of power supply line "noise," the control detected as an incorrect voltage amount. The control could display the F9 or F9 E0 error code. Also, if any keys were pressed before the 10-second delay interval on power-up, this could cause the F9 or F9 E0 to appear.

If a recent power outage has occurred, turn off the household circuit breaker for the range for one (1) minute.  Then, reset the circuit breaker and monitor the range for one (1) minute to ensure the error code does not display again.  Verify range operation is normal.

IMPORTANT: If the range control continues to display an "F9" or "F9, E0" error code, the electrical outlet in the home may be miswired.
Disconnect power and contact a qualified electrician to verify the electrical supply.

Is the control panel locked or in demo mode?

Some ovens may be equipped with a control lock feature. Look for "Control Lock" on the oven control console and then reset by typically holding the button(s) for 3 seconds.

Some ovens may also be equipped with a demo mode feature. When demo mode is enabled, the stove will not operate, and the control will display a short presentation highlighting the features of the range.

Refer to the Owner's Manual to learn more about enabling and disabling the demo mode feature. 

Is the control set for a delayed start? 

The oven can be set for a bake function with a Delayed Start, meaning the function will not start until the start time is reached.

Cancel the control and restart the bake function.

Has a household circuit breaker tripped or the fuse blown?

Check to ensure a household fuse has not blown or a circuit breaker has tripped. If necessary, reset the circuit breaker or replace the fuse.

• Power the unit down by turning off the circuit breaker(s) for thirty (30) seconds.
• Power the unit up by turning on the circuit breaker(s).
• If the problem continues, contact a licensed electrician.
