Door Not Closing - Range

Possible Solution

Is the door blocked?

Ensure the door latch is not blocked.  Below are some common items that may prevent the appliance from closing or opening:

  • Packing and/or shipping material
  • Dish or bakeware.  Ensure the dish is the correct size, and an oversized plate will prevent the door from closing.
  • Check that the cooking rack (if equipped) is not out of position and that the door is not allowing it to close.
  • Food or soil build-up.  Clean the around around the door, as needed.

Was the door removed?

If the door was removed, ensure the hinges were reset before re-installing the door.

Is the Range Level?

Style 1: Ranges Equipped with a Storage Drawer: Use a 1/4" (6.4 mm) drive ratchet, wrench, or pliers to adjust the leveling legs up or down until the range is level. Push the range back into position. Check that the rear leveling leg is engaged in the anti-tip bracket.

Style 2: Ranges Equipped with a Warming Drawer or Premium Storage Drawer: Use a wrench or pliers to adjust leveling legs up or down until the range is level. Push range back into position. Check that the rear-leveling leg is engaged in the anti-tip bracket.
