Long Cycle Time - Dishwasher

Possible Solutions

Is the dishwasher running too long?

Cycle time is anywhere from 1.5 to 4 hours long depending on the cycle and options selected. Some models are equipped with an optical sensor wash that detects water temperature, soil and detergent amount. Wash cycles are then adjusted based on what is sensed. When loads are overly dirty, the optical sensor will default to the longest cycle time available. A delay automatically occurs in some wash and rinse cycles until the water reaches the proper temperature.

Is the water temperature correct?

As part of normal operation, the dishwasher pauses two to three times during the cycle for thermal holds and advances once the temperature is met. When certain cycles and/or options are selected, a longer cycle is normal. Additional time is needed to heat the water to the proper temperature for cleaning and/or sanitizing your dishes. Before starting a load, run the hot water faucet nearest the sink until the water is hot; then turn off the faucet and start the dishwasher.
