Will Not Fill With Water - Portable Dishwasher

Possible Solutions

Is there a loop in the end of the drain hose and is it at least 20" (50.8 cm) above the subfloor or floor?

Your dishwasher could be siphoning improperly:

  • Make sure to connect the drain hose to the waste tee or disposer inlet above the drain trap in the house plumbing.
  • At 20" (50.8 cm) minimum above the floor. This allows the draining to siphon properly when the water is flowing in the system.
  • Without these specified steps the dishwasher may not fill properly with water.

Is the door open or unlatched? Is the START/RESUME indicator LED flashing?

If the door is opened during a cycle:

  • The door becomes unlatched and the power is interrupted, then the Start/Resume indicator (LED) flashes.
  • Resume the cycle by pressing the START/RESUME key and closing the door within 3 seconds.
  • Or after the door has been closed press the START/RESUME key.
  • There should be a solid START/RESUME LED now, and the dishwasher can resume its operation. That's if this is what needed to be corrected.

Is the house water supply to the dishwasher inlet valve turned on/off?

  • The house water supply connected to the dishwasher must be turned on for the dishwasher to fill properly.

Is the overfill protection float restricted or out of position?

  • Make sure to remove all obstructions from the float area if there is any interference seen lifting it up.
  • Move the float up and down to see if it moves freely.
  • The overfill protection float (in the front right corner of the dishwasher tub) keeps the dishwasher from overfilling. If water lifts the float it will indicate an overfill.
  • It must be in place (down not up) to indicate the unit is not overfilling, for the dishwasher to operate.

The overfill protection float is located at the front right corner of the dishwasher tub.
