What is the AB-1200 Warning on the Box?

What is the AB-1200 warning I see on the box?

As part of our continuing commitment to comply with all applicable federal and state laws, Whirlpool Corporation has labeled certain appliance boxes according to California law AB-1200.  AB-1200 requires disclosure of the presence of any of over 3300 chemicals, including metals like copper, nickel, iron, and aluminum, when present in the food contact surfaces or handles of cookware.  The presence of such a chemical does not mean that the product is unsafe or poses a health risk.

Information about AB-1200 and this warning can be found on the California Legislative Information site.

Whirlpool Corporation is committed to complying with all laws applicable to our products. More information about specific regulations and disclosures is available at the links below.
