How to Move a Washing Machine - Commercial Grade Washer

Possible Solutions

Transporting your washer:

  1. Shut off both water faucets. Disconnect and drain water inlet hoses.
  2. If the washer is moved during freezing weather, follow WINTER STORAGE CARE directions before moving.
  3. Disconnect the drain hose from the drain system and drain any remaining water into a pan or bucket. Disconnect the drain hose from the back of the washer.
  4. Unplug the power cord.
  5. Place inlet hoses and drain hose inside the washer basket.
  6. Drape the power cord over the edge and into the washer basket.
  7. Place packing tray from the original shipping materials back inside the washer. If you do not have packing tray, place heavy blankets or towels into the basket opening. Close the lid and place tape over the lid and down the front of the washer. Keep the lid taped until the washer is placed in its new location.
  8. Reinstall the bottom shipping cone if available.
