How to Winterize a Steam Dryer

How to Winterize a Whirlpool Steam Dryer

If you plan on storing or not using your dryer over the colder winter months, you should winterize it.  Winterizing your steam dryer helps prevent damage from freezing temperatures. By taking the time to properly prepare your appliance, you can enjoy the convenience of fresh, wrinkle-free laundry all season long. Let's start with the precautions and procedures you'll need to follow.

NOTE: Refer to the Owner's Manual or Installation instructions for directions for your specific model.

Steps to Winterize Your {Text_Brandname}} Steam Dryer

To ensure your steam dryer is ready for winter, follow these steps:

  1. Unplug the dryer or disconnect the power.
  2. Shut off the water faucet.
  3. Disconnect the water inlet hose from the faucet and drain.
  4. If possible, place your dryer in a climate-controlled area. If your dryer is in an unheated garage or basement, use a space heater to maintain a moderate temperature.
