Step-by-Step Instructions for Moving Your Dryer

Moving your dryer can be straightforward with the right steps. Measure doorways and hallways before moving to avoid getting stuck in tight spaces. If the dryer is too wide, consider removing the door or any obstructions. Navigate tight spots by tilting the dryer slightly and moving it carefully to prevent scratches on the appliance and walls. Use a dolly, hand cart, or appliance mover for easier transport.

Uninstall the Dryer

  1. Disconnect power.
  2. Disconnect wiring.
  3. Shut off the water faucet, disconnect the water inlet hose from the faucet, and drain the hose. Transport the hose separately. (Steam Models Only)
  4. Detach the vent hose.
  5. Make sure the leveling legs are secure in the dryer base.
  6. Use tape to secure the dryer door.

NOTE: For gas dryers, you will also need to turn off and uninstall the gas line.
