How to select the cycles, options, and modifiers for your washer

Are you using High Efficiency (HE) detergent?

Use of non-HE detergent can cause a film residue, which can result in detergent not rinsing completely from the clothing.  Always use only HE detergent and manufacturer's recommended amount of detergent.

CLICK HERE for more information regarding the use of HE detergent

Were you washing a large load?

To rinse well, the load items need to move freely in the washer. You may need to reduce your load size.

For best performance, load items in loose heaps evenly around the wash plate.

Did you increase wash time using the Soil Level button?

Soil Level (wash time) is preset for each wash cycle. As you touch the Soil Level pad, the cycle time (minutes) will increase or decrease in the Estimated Time Remaining display and a different wash time will appear. Select the most suitable setting for your load. For heavily soiled items, select Extra Heavy Soil Level for more wash time. For lightly soiled items, select Light Soil Level for less wash time.

Are you using the Fabric Softener Option?

Using the Fabric Softener option will allow more water into the rinse cycle. Whether you use liquid fabric softener or not, selecting this option will bring in more water, and could improve your rinse results.

Did you use the "Rinse and Spin" Cycle?

Rinse and spin is a cycle used for loads requiring an additional rinse cycle or to complete a load after a power interruption.

On some models, you may have to select the "Drain and Spin" Cycle, then select "Extra Rinse". Check your Owner's Manual for the cycle selections for your model.
