Squeaking or Squealing Noise - Top Load Washer
Possible Solutions
Washer may be overloaded
When the washer is overloaded, the balance system may be under pressure. This could cause different type noises such as squeaks or squeals. Always follow the loading instructions in your Owner's Manual.
Items left in pockets could get in the pump/motor
Always check and empty pockets before loading clothing into your washer. Small items such as coins, nails, or paperclips could easily fall through the holes in the basket, and get caught in the pump/motor assembly. These items could cause loud squealing noises, and eventually cause premature failure of those components.
