My Whirlpool Trash Compactor Drawer Will Not Close
If your trash compactor drawer will not close check the following:
- Is the ram all the way up?
- Is the Sold Cycle engaged?
Is the ram all the way up?
The Solid Cycle extends the bag's life by constantly pressing on the trash to prevent it from springing back. Regular use can increase bag capacity by up to 25 percent. The drawer will open only when the ram is fully raised.
During the Solid Cycle, the ram will stay in the down position for extra compacting. The drawer is locked and cannot be opened when the ram is down.
Is the Solid Cycle engaged?
The drawer remains Locked until you reset it by lifting up the foot pedal.
