Possible Solutions

Does the water filter need to be replaced? 

The filter status light will help you know when to change your water filter. It is recommended that you replace the filter when the status light changes to red or water flow to your water dispenser or ice production has decreased noticeably. The water should be replaced at least 6 months, depending on your water quality and usage.

Whirlpool recommends using a EveryDrop® water filter.

How to reset your filter status?

Resetting the Filter Status After changing the filter:

  • Pressing and hold LIGHT and ICE TYPE button for 3 seconds.
  • The status light will turn off when the system is reset.
