Cooktop Light Staying On - Over-the-Range Microwave
Possible Solution
Was the bulb replaced?
If the light bulb was recently replaced, ensure it was replaced with the correct type. Depending on your model, it will take either an iridescent bulb or LED style. If the wrong type of light bulb is installed, you may experience the following: light staying on, brightness not changing, and/or flickering. To verify the type of light bulb needed, refer to the label on the microwave's underside.
To replace the light bulb
The cooktop light is located on the underside of the microwave oven.
- Remove the bulb cover screw and open the bulb cover.
- Replace the bulb, close the bulb cover, and secure it with the screw.
Is the Light Timer set?
On some models, you can set the cooktop light to turn on and off at certain times. Touch OPTIONS/CLOCK to reach the Light Timer submenu, and follow the prompts to set the light on time and light off time in hours and minutes or to cancel Light Timer. NOTE: Light Timer uses 12-hour clock only
