Has a fuse blown or circuit tripped?

There may be 2 household fuses or circuit breakers for the dryer. Make sure both fuses are intact and tight, or that both circuit breakers have not tripped. Replace the fuse(s) or reset the circuit breaker(s). If the problem continues, contact a qualified electrician.

Electric dryers require a 240-volt power supply. Check with a qualified electrician.

Your dryer door may not be fully closed. It may look shut, but may not be latched. Push on the door to engage the latch.

Make sure there is no clothing blocking the door latch.

Is the Control Locked Status Light On?

If the Controls Locked status light is on press and hold the Control Lock button for three seconds. This will turn off the Control Locked feature.

Was the Start button firmly pressed?

Start button symbol on dryer    The Start button should be pressed and held for two to five seconds. Start buttons vary from model to model. Check the console for clarification or refer to the Owner's Manual for more detailed information.

Is the Pump Reservoir full?

There is a water level sensor in the pump that will shut the unit off if it gets to a certain level.  Reasons a reservoir might fill up are:

  • If using the water tank, it may not be properly inserted
  • If discharge hose is routed to a drain or standpipe, the discharge hose may not be installed properly
  • You may have a kinked or clogged drain hose

To remedy this:

  • Fully insert the water tank and press start.  The unit should start and initiate a drain.
  • Inspect for kinks, clogs, and proper insertion of the hoses
