Clothes are Wrinkled - Front Load Washer

garrmentsPossible Solutions

Are the hot and cold water supply hoses reversed?

Check your water inlet hoses for proper connection to the faucets. Make sure the hot-water inlet hose is connected to the hot-water valve and that the cold-water inlet hose is connected to the cold-water faucet. Reversed inlet hoses can result in the warm rinse water, setting wrinkles into garments that require cold-water rinses. Attach the hot water hose to the hot water inlet valve marked with a red ring. Screw coupling by hand until it is snug. Use pliers to tighten couplings an additional two-thirds turn. Repeat with the cold water inlet valve. See the Installation Instructions for details.

Were you washing a large load?

To reduce tangling and twisting, the load items need to tumble freely in the washer. You may need to reduce your load size

Did you increase wash time using the Soil Level button?

Selecting a higher level of soil removal increases the wash time. Long wash times may provide too much wash action for the size and type of load you are washing. Lower soil level settings will help reduce tangling and wrinkling.

Did the wrinkling occur during a cycle with high-speed spinning such as Heavy Duty?

Try selecting a lower spin speed or a cycle, such as Casual or Active Wear, or Delicate, with reduced spin speeds, a warm wash, and cold rinses to reduce wrinkles.

  • Faster spin speeds mean shorter dry times but may increase wrinkling in your load.
  • Slower spin speeds reduce wrinkling but will leave your load damper.
  • Use the Delicate cycle or another cycle with a low spin speed to reduce wrinkling.

Were you using a cold water wash?

The recommended wash temperature is preset for each cycle. You may also select a wash temperature based on the type of fabric and soils being washed. For best results, use the warmest wash water safe for your garments, following the garment label instructions.

Were the clothes left in the washer for an extended period of time after the cycle completed?

Remove the load as soon as the washer cycle ends. If the load sits for too long after the end of the cycle, wrinkles can set in. It is also important to promptly remove loads from the dryer to avoid the same problem.
